May 02 | Sandbar Island
It was low tide and Melissa and I headed out to the end of a sandbar to play in the sand. The tide started to come in, and soon we were surrounded by water on a sandbar island. The island got smaller and smaller, and I jumped for the beach, bringing our Chihuahua with me. Melissa was scared about being trapped on the sandbar island with our Poodle and would not jump for shore. Mom stood on the shore and called to her, telling her to jump. The distance between the small sandbar island and the shore was only a few feet, but it looked like a mile to me. Mom ended up wading out to the small island, and carrying both her and the dog back to shore. I was angry with Melissa that she wouldn't do it, that she was too scared at the beginning when the water wasn't deep, and that she made mom get wet to rescue her. If she had only jumped when I did, no one would have gotten wet.
